Ingredients you’ll need
Butter – Unsalted butter at room temperature will blend together nicely with the rest of the ingredients. If your butter is hard, then microwave for just a few seconds. You don’t want it to be runny, just soft.
Sugar – Both caster and granulated sugar work just fine. I know some people only use caster sugar as the crystals are much smaller but I think granulated works just fine. Plus you’re a lot more likely to have simple granulated sugar at home.
Eggs – Its’sbest to have room temperature eggs for baking brownies but just work with what you have.
Vanilla Extract – Don’t skip the vanilla extract. It’s such a simple way of making your brownies so much more delicious and professional tasting!
Salt – Adding a little salt to brownies is essential for me because it balances all the sugar that’s been added.
Plain Flour – Also known as All-purpose flour is the best choice for brownies.
Kinder Chocolate – Chop them up and add to them both batter and a few on top before baking.
Top tips
Use Kinder Chocolate: Opt for Kinder chocolate bars or Kinder chocolate drops for an authentic and distinctive flavour. You can chop them into chunks for the cookie dough.
Add Nutella or Hazelnuts: Enhance the hazelnut flavour by adding Nutella or chopped hazelnuts to the cookie dough. This complements the hazelnut filling found in Kinder chocolate.
Chill the Dough: Chilling the cookie dough before baking helps solidify the fats in the dough, preventing the cookies from spreading too much and resulting in a thicker, chewier texture.
Use a Mix of Brown and White Sugar: A combination of brown and white sugars contributes to both chewiness and flavour. Brown sugar adds moisture and depth, while white sugar helps with crispness.
Room Temperature Ingredients: Ensure that ingredients like butter and eggs are at room temperature. This helps with even mixing and a smoother cookie texture.
More tips
Don’t Overmix the Dough: Overmixing can lead to tough cookies. Mix the dough just until the ingredients are combined.
Size Consistency: Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to ensure uniform cookie sizes. This helps with even baking.
Flatten Slightly Before Baking: Flatten the cookie dough slightly before baking. This ensures even baking and a nice, chewy texture.
Bake on Parchment Paper: Line your baking sheets with parchment paper to prevent the cookies from sticking and to make clean-up easier.
Add Chocolate Chunks on Top: Before baking, press a few additional Kinder chocolate chunks onto the tops of the cookie dough balls. This adds extra chocolatey goodness to each cookie.
Cooling Time: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. This helps them set and ensures a chewy texture.
Experiment with Fillings: Consider adding other fillings, like caramel or white chocolate chips, for added variety and flavour.
Store Properly: Store the cookies in an airtight container to maintain their freshness. You can also freeze them for longer storage.
