INTRODUCTION TO MY CRUMBL COOKIES COPYCAT RECIPE
I’ve seen these Crumbl Cookies everywhere on social media and I fell in love with their design. They look so simple and cute so I decided to make them at home. I made a simple vanilla flavoured cookie with a cream cheese frosting which I dyed pink. They turned out so crumbly, soft and chewy and the creamy and sweet icing on top really elevated the flavour. I ended gifting these cookies to a friend because I was so proud of how they turned out and they looked too pretty not to share.
I was also quite impressed with how simple the recipe was. There were very few steps to the cookie recipe and the cream cheese frosting was only a few ingredients whisked together. If you want a simple and personal gift idea then these cookies are perfect! Not to mention you can dye the frosting to any colour and tailor it to however you’re making them for.

HOW TO MAKE CRUMBL COOKIES COPYCAT
There are two components to making these crumbl cookies; there’s the soft, crumbly cookie and the thick and sweet cream cheese icing.
Cookies
Starting with the cookies, follow the simple steps below:
- Firstly, pre-heat the oven to 175°C and line a baking tray with baking paper. Don’t skip the baking paper because it will make sure that the cookies come straight off the tray without sticking.
- To make the mixture. start by whisking together both sugars with the melted butter. Melting the butter helps to make the batter smooth and lump free.
- Then add in the egg and vanilla extract and whisk until fully incorporated.
- Sift in the plain flour, cornflour, baking soda, baking powder and salt and fold until combined. In order to get the perfect crumbly cookie texture, it’s important to get all the dry ingredients just mentioned.
- Either use an ice-cream scoop or spoon and roll 50g dough balls, place onto the baking tray and refrigerate for 1 hour. Chilling the dough helps the cookies to keep their shape after baking.
- Before baking, ensure the dough balls are spaced out as they will spread in the hot over. Place into the oven at 175°C for 12 mins and allow to cool completely before decorating.
Cream Cheese Icing
- This cream cheese icing couldn’t be easier to make! Whisk together the butter, cream cheese and icing sugar for around 5 minutes and then add in the vanilla extract and whisk until combined.
- You can leave it like this and decorate the cookies or you can add in the food colouring for a pop of colour.
- Using a piping bag or sandwich bag, pipe the mixture onto the cookies and decorate with sprinkles, crushed nuts or chocolate shavings. Enjoy!
TOP TIPS FOR MAKING THE BEST CRUMBL COOKIES COPYCAT AT HOME
- Perfecting the Cookie Base:
Achieve the iconic Crumbl texture by not overmixing the cookie dough. Stop mixing as soon as the ingredients are combined to maintain a soft and gooey centre.
- Chill the Dough:
Refrigerate the cookie dough for at least an hour before baking. Chilled dough helps prevent excessive spreading in the oven, maintaining a thick and soft consistency.
- Bake at the Right Temperature:
Preheat your oven accurately and bake the cookies at 175°C (350°F). This temperature ensures that the cookies cook evenly and achieve the desired softness.
- Watch the Baking Time:
Keep a close eye on the cookies as they bake. Crumbl-style cookies are known for their slightly underbaked centres. Bake just until the edges turn golden, leaving the centre soft and gooey.
MORE TIPS
- Signature Icing Consistency: Achieve the perfect cream cheese frosting by ensuring your butter is softened but not melted. Whip the icing until it’s light, fluffy, and easy to spread.
- Texture Balance: Balance the texture of your cookies by choosing a mix of crispy and gooey toppings. This combination creates a delightful contrast in each bite.
- Freshness is Key: Enjoy your Crumbl-inspired cookies fresh out of the oven. The texture is at its peak when the cookies are still warm and gooey.
- Customise to Your Taste: Feel free to tailor the recipe to your preferences. Add nuts, swap out chocolate types, or even incorporate unique flavour extracts to create your signature Crumbl-inspired cookie.
- Share the Joy: The essence of Crumbl is in the shared experience. Bake these cookies for friends, family, or neighbours and spread the joy of homemade Crumbl goodness.
