Why you’ll love this Rocky Road recipe:

Rich, Decadent Flavor:

  • Rocky Road combines the richness of chocolate with the sweetness of marshmallows and the crunch of nuts, creating a multi-layered taste experience that’s both indulgent and satisfying.

Texture Contrast:

  • The treat offers a delightful mix of textures: the smooth, creamy chocolate contrasts with the chewy marshmallows and the crunchy nuts, making every bite an exciting sensory experience.

Versatility:

  • Rocky Road can be enjoyed in various forms, such as bars, ice cream, or even fudge. This versatility means you can enjoy the flavours in different ways, depending on your mood or preference.

Easy to Make:

  • Rocky Road is relatively simple to prepare, requiring only a few ingredients and minimal cooking skills. It’s an ideal treat for those who want to make a delicious dessert without spending hours in the kitchen.

Nostalgic Appeal:

  • For many, Rocky Road is a nostalgic treat that brings back fond childhood memories. Its classic combination of flavours and textures has been enjoyed for generations, making it a comforting and familiar dessert.

Top Tips

Use High-Quality Chocolate:

  • Pick your favourite chocolate for the base of the Rocky Road because it will be the main flavour of the dish. Pick a high quality chocolate as this will give you the best taste and texture.

Mix Textures and Flavours:

  • Incorporate a variety of textures and flavours to make your Rocky Road more interesting. You can add marshmallows, biscuits, nuts or dried fruits; whatever you’d like.

Melt Chocolate Gently:

  • When melting chocolate, do it gently over a double boiler or in short 30 second bursts in the microwave, stirring frequently to avoid scorching. Overheating can cause the chocolate to seize, ruining its smooth consistency.

Prepare Your Pan Properly:

  • Line your baking pan with baking paper or cling film, leaving an overhang on the sides. This makes it easier to lift the Rocky Road out of the pan once it’s set and simplifies cutting into pieces.

Cool Completely Before Cutting:

  • Allow the Rocky Road to cool and set completely at room temperature or in the refrigerator before cutting it into bars. This ensures clean cuts and prevents the chocolate from melting or becoming too soft.

Ingredients you’ll need to make Rocky Road

  • 450 g Chocolate melted
  • 70 g Mini Marshmallows a little extra to garnish
  • 80 g Digestive biscuits broken into pieces

How to make Rocky Road

  5. Once fully mixed, pour into the lined tin and spread out evenly.
