Kinder Bueno Cookies
When it comes to flavoured desserts such as waffles, crepes and milkshakes, Kinder Bueno is always my favourite choice (narrowly beating out Snickers). For a good while it used to be Ferrero Rocher but it doesn’t taste the way it used to! I seem to be the only one who thinks this way but it just doesn’t taste as rich and flavourful as it used to and I don’t know why. I’m convinced they’ve changed the recipe but I’m yet to find another person who agrees.
Kinder Bueno on the other hand hits the spot every time. It’s rich flavour, crisp exterior and the deliciously creamy centre, it’s what dreams are made of! I was in the mood to make a Kinder Bueno dessert but didn’t want to make something too complicated. I’ve also mentioned in another post how much I love making cookies because I find the process therapeutic; so I decided to make cookies.
I wanted to incorporate the Kinder Buenos into the cookies so I made a batch of cookie dough and intended to put some of the chocolate pieces into the batter. However, the chocolate pieces are light and fragile and were not going to hold their shape. Considering that the most satisfying part of eating a Kinder Bueno is biting into the crispy wafer and tasting the creamy centre, it wouldn’t have been a satisfying experiencing mixing the chocolate into the batter.
Instead I decided to keep the chocolate pieces whole and place them on top of the cookies. I put a drizzle of melted chocolate on top of the cookies so that the Kinder Bueno piece would stick onto it, which looked really nice as well. I’ve tried Nutella on a few of the cookies but it didn’t turn out as well. My family had come over for some tea in the afternoon, so I served them and they were a hit. Everyone really loved the taste and they said they looked great too.

TOP TIPS ON MAKING THE BEST KINDER BUENO COOKIES
- Use High-Quality Chocolate: Select high-quality milk chocolate for both the cookie dough and any chocolate coatings. The better the chocolate, the richer and more authentic the Kinder Bueno flavour will be.
- Incorporate Hazelnuts: If you wish, add finely chopped or ground hazelnuts to the cookie dough to mimic the hazelnut crunch found in Kinder Bueno bars. This will enhance the texture and flavour of the cookies.
- Balance Sweetness: Kinder Bueno cookies should be sweet, but not overly sweet. Balance the sweetness by adjusting the sugar content in the cookie dough.
- Experiment with Toppings: Get creative with the toppings by drizzling on some melted chocolate and top with the Kinder Bueno bars.
MORE TIPS
- Chill the Dough: Chill the cookie dough before baking as this helps the cookies maintain their shape during baking and results in a chewier texture.
- Proper Cookie Size: Keep the cookie sizes consistent for even baking. Use a cookie scoop or your hands to form uniform portions of dough.
- Coat with Chocolate: Dip the cookies in melted milk chocolate or coat them with a chocolate drizzle This step adds a glossy finish and enhances the overall chocolatey experience.
- Store Properly: Store the Kinder Bueno cookies in an airtight container to preserve their freshness. Adding a piece of bread to the container can help prevent the cookies from becoming too dry.
